   James J.Purdy MD FACOG is a American board certified OG/GYN surgeon since 1977. He is on active full staff at Rush Foundation Hospital and courtesy staff at JARMC in Meridian, Mississippi. He has an appointment as proctor for robotic minimmaly invasive surgery. Doctor Purdy introduced minimally invasive surgery to East Central Misissippi and West Alabama at Rush Foundation Hospital in 1990. He introduced  robotic hysterectomy as the next generation minimally invasive surgery on December 9, 2008 to East Central Misissippi and West Alabama at Rush Foundation Hospital. He has been  Chairman and latter Vice Chairman of the Department of Ob/Gyn at Rush Hospital in Meridian, Mississippi. He is the current Director Robotic Surgery (including procedures cardiac, general surgery, gynecologic and urologic surgery) at Rush Foundation Hospital.
